June is Great Outdoors Month, and there are so many ways to get outside and enjoy everything Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality has to offer this summer! From Art in the Park on June 6 and relaxing days at the Statesville Leisure Pool to Aqua Classes, Youth Summer Sports Camps, Youth Agility Bootcamp, Statesville Walks, pickleball, beautiful parks, and miles of greenway trails, there’s something for everyone to enjoy outdoors in Statesville this season.

Summer youth sports & fitness opportunities
From team sports and summer camps to tennis, pickleball, and youth fitness programs, Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality (REV) offers a wide variety of opportunities to help young athletes stay active, build confidence, and develop new skills this summer! Select one or all of the programs below to learn more:
Fall Youth Leagues: Registration is now open in soccer, softball and volleyball. Registration closes July 1st. Learn more here.
Summer Sports Camps: Weekly camps available from June 1st thru July 9th in wrestling, tennis, track & field, softball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer. Registration closes the Friday prior to each camp start date.
Youth Agility Bootcamp: Athletes will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 6-weeks from June 23rd thru July 30th. This program is designed to help participants build endurance, agility, and flexibility in a safe, structured, and fun environment. Registration ends Tuesday June 16th.
Youth Tennis: Unlock their tennis potential with year-round youth tennis! Monthly group tennis lessons are the perfect way to dive into the world of tennis or enhance your existing skills. Registering now for June and July sessions.
Pickleball: Ready to join one of the fastest-growing sports in the country? Whether you've never held a paddle or are looking for a refresher on the fundamentals, this program will give you the skills and confidence to enjoy the game. The upcoming July course is for ages 14 - 17! Registration ends July 3rd.
Celebrating 160 years - a Juneteenth legacy
The community is invited to come together for a celebration of freedom, culture, history, and unity at this year’s Juneteenth Statesville Celebration in Downtown Statesville on June 20, 2026 from 11a-7p. Stage D3 extreme drought continues; water restrictions still in effect
The City of Statesville is currently under Stage 3 (Extreme Drought) conditions, as declared by the North Carolina Drought Management Advisory Council based on the latest U.S. Drought Monitor data.
As of May 4, 2026, the City will enforce water use restrictions, including fines for noncompliance, in accordance with City of Statesville Code of Ordinances and the City’s Water Shortage Response Plan, following a drought advisory and the establishment of the City’s Water Shortage Leadership Team.
All residents and businesses are asked to comply with the current drought restrictions as we work together to protect our community’s water resources. Read more here.
