SALISBURY, N.C. — The Catawba College women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to Tampa on Sunday afternoon at Frock Field.
Kaitlyn Johnson supplied the Catawba Indians' (1-1) goal with an assist credited to Natalie Peterson. Johnson and Ella Matthews led the squad in shots on goal with two apiece, while Alex Eguren had a team-high four total boots. Lauren Zitt made five saves on eight shots fired by the Spartans (2-0). Tampa took 18 cracks at the Catawba net, putting nine on target, while the blue and white delivered 13 shots and had six on-goal tries.
